TOOLS: In Blackboard, how does an instructor send email to the class or organization?

A Blackboard instructor may follow the steps below to send an email to their class.

  1. Enter the course or organization site.
  2. Under Control Panel, click Course Tools to expand the menu options.
  3. Click Send Email.
  4. Choose the group you are mailing (for example: All Student Users).
  5. Write a subject and the message body. You may also attach a document if desired.
  6. Click Submit.

Please note that many email providers such as Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail, AOL and MSN may mistake messages from Blackboard as spam.
