USERS AND GROUPS: How do I remove users from my Blackboard organization site?

Follow the instructions below to remove users from your Blackboard organization site.

Method one

 Use the Edit User link

  1. From the My Blackboard page, click the Edit Users link next to the name of your organization under Organizations you are leading.
  2. Click the checkboxes in the the Un-Enroll column next to the users you would like to remove.
  3. Then click Submit.

Method two

  • Part one: Create a batch un-enroll users file
    • You must create a .txt file or a .csv file (comma separated value) using a text editor (e.g., Notepad on the PC, TextEdit on the Mac) or using Microsoft Excel.
    • Fields must appear in the following order for each user record in a .txt file:
      • "AccessID1","P"
      • "AccessID2","B"
      • "AccessID3","S"
    • When using Microsoft Excel to create a .csv file, use only the first six columns in the same order previously mentioned. A example is illustrated below:

    • Organization role legend
      • B — Organization Builder
      • G — Grader
      • P — Leader
      • S — Participant
      • T — Assistant
    • Restrictions: All field values must be enclosed in double quotes (""). If there is no field value for the Organization Role field, Organization Role will default to Participant for that record.
  • Part two: Upload a batch un-enroll users file
    • Once you have created a batch enroll users file, use the following instructions to upload the file:
      1. From the My Blackboard page, click the Edit Users link next to the name of your organization under Organizations you are leading.
      2. Click Batch Remove Users (located at the top of the page).
      3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and Click the Browse button to select the file to upload. Ensure that the delimiter that separates the data is a comma.
