Does Wayne State have regularly scheduled system maintenance periods?

C&IT performs periodic system maintenance to implement updates and ensure all systems are working properly. There are two regularly scheduled maintenance periods:

 

  • Sunday 2 - 8 a.m.
  • Thursday 6 - 8 a.m.

 

Urgent and emergency updates are installed as soon as possible.

 

C&IT posts notices about system access that will affect students in Academica, in the banner of our secure login page (login.wayne.edu) and here on the C&IT website tech.wayne.edu.

 

Some systems have more regularly scheduled system maintenance windows:

 

Academica

 

  • Operating 7 days / 24 hours with these exceptions
  • Daily maintenance: 2 a.m. -2:30 a.m.
  • Weekly maintenance: Sundays 12:01 a.m.-8 a.m.

 

Banner

 

  • Operating Mon-Sat, 7 a.m.-midnight; Sunday, noon-8 p.m.

 

Cognos

 

  • Operating Mon-Sat, 8:30 a.m.-8 p.m.; Sunday, noon-8 p.m.

 

Researcher's Dashboard

 

  • Operating Mon-Sat, 7 a.m.-midnight; Sunday, noon-8 p.m.

  • Operating 7 Days / 24 Hours with these exceptions
  • Weekly maintenance: Sundays 2 a.m. -8 a.m.

 

STARS

 

  • Operating 7 days / 24 hours with these exceptions
  • Daily maintenance: 3 a.m.- 5 a.m. -- slow performance during daily backups
  • Weekly maintenance: Sundays 12:01 a.m. - 8 a.m.
