OneDrive for Business Usage Guidelines for Wayne State Employees

Wayne Connect is powered by the Microsoft Office 365 system which includes the OneDrive for Business file storage and sharing utility. OneDrive for Business allows users to store files in the cloud, sync those files to devices, and edit and share documents with internal and external users.

Recommended guidelines for employees using OneDrive for Business:

  • Files stored in OneDrive are subject to all University policies including the Acceptable Use of Information Technology Resources policy and the Confidential Information Policy. Do not store anything in OneDrive for Business that you would not include as an email attachment.
  • There is no restriction on personal use of OneDrive for Business, but please be aware that there is no guarantee that you will have access to this information if your association with Wayne State ends.
  • OneDrive for Business is not located on the Wayne State campus, thus C&IT cannot guarantee uptime, service or confidentiality beyond that stated by Microsoft.
