OneDrive for Business on a PC

  1. OneDrive for Business is automatically included as part of Office 365 on Wayne State computers -- just look in the Microsoft Office folder in your Start menu. If OneDrive for Business is not installed on your computer, you may download the free client on any computer right here -- just make sure you choose OneDrive for Business.
  2. Once you have located or installed OneDrive for Business, open the program and login with your AccessID email address (e.g. xy1234@wayne.edu) and password.
  3. You may now have your OneDrive for Business folder sync to your computer. All of the files you store in your account will automatically be accessible on your computer. This folder will stay up-to-date when your computer is connected to the internet. Any files you add to this folder or changes you make to files within this folder will be automatically uploaded to your OneDrive for Business account. OneDrive in Microsoft Office

  1. Modern versions of Microsoft Office (including Microsoft Office 2013 for PC and Office 2016 for Mac) have OneDrive functionality built in. Log in with your Wayne State AccessID email address (e.g., xy1234@wayne.edu) and password to get started.
  2. When you open documents or save documents, you will automatically have the option to use your Wayne State OneDrive storage. You will also see that when you are editing documents stored in your OneDrive, the Save button becomes a Save and Refresh button. This signifies that changes are being saved and automatically synced to your OneDrive account.
  3. Microsoft is regularly updating Office. Shared documents will soon be able to reflect live co-editing and more.

Mobile devices

  1. Search for OneDrive in your device's app marketplace (or follow these links for Android and iOS). For mobile devices, you don't need to use a specific OneDrive for Business application -- Microsoft has combined the personal and professional OneDrive applications.
  2. View, edit and save files stored in your Wayne Connect OneDrive account. You may need to install additional Microsoft Office apps for some features. All of the Microsoft Office apps you need to use OneDrive on your mobile device are free.

Note: The OneDrive features in your Wayne Connect account are slightly different from a personal Microsoft OneDrive account. During installation, please double check that you choose OneDrive for Business.
