How do I setup my television set for Xfinity TV?

Xfinity TV is the traditional cable TV offering available in some Wayne State Housing facilities. Get started by plugging a compatible TV in to the cable jack in the wall and performing a channel scan.

How to scan for channels

The channel scan function varies by TV manufacturer, but traditionally it is located in the menu under Auto Program, Find Channels or a similar title. If you are presented with the option of Cable or Broadcast, be sure to choose Cable.

Running this function forces your TV to search through each channel and determine which channel numbers are currently available to you. This process may take as long as an hour, but will only need to be done once. Refer to your

TV's manual or search the model number online for detailed instructions.
