What is Camtasia and who can use it?
Camtasia is a software suite that allows users to create video, audio, and other multimedia recordings via screencasting or direct recording using both Microsoft and macOS devices. Wayne State has a Camtasia license that is available to select faculty members.
Camtasia may be used to edit videos from Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Echo360 to create:
- Video tutorials
- Meeting recordings
- Video Lessons
- Explainer videos
- Presentation recordings
- Instructional videos
Access
Camtasia licensing is only available to faculty who are assigned courses for the current semester. Eligible faculty are automatically enrolled in the Camtasia training course in Canvas at canvas.wayne.edu/courses each semester. Users must complete the course before gaining access to the software.
