Wayne State has acquired a license for the popular Zoom video communication service! Computing & Information Technology (C&IT) has activated the Zoom accounts for all active students, faculty and staff to host online classes and meetings.

Zoom will soon be a part of the online classroom experience for all Wayne State students and faculty. At the conclusion of the spring/summer 2020 semester, Zoom will replace BigBlueButton as the integrated conferencing tool within Canvas.
C&IT and the Office for Teaching and Learning are working together to make the transition from BigBlueButton to Zoom as smooth as possible. Both live and on-demand training will be available, as well as extensive documentation and support.

Wayne State has acquired a license for the popular Zoom video communication service, and Computing & Information Technology (C&IT) is making final preparations to begin distribution of accounts. Beginning Monday, June 29, Wayne State students, faculty and staff will be able to host Zoom meetings that last longer than 40 minutes with up to 300 particpants.

C&IT is pleased to announce that Wayne State has acquired a license for the Zoom video conferencing service. Under this license, Wayne State students, faculty and staff will be able to host Zoom meetings that allow up to 300 participants with no time limit. Accounts will be rolled out to campus in phases, with a projected 100% completion date of July 6, 2020. Individuals will be notified when their account is ready to use.
