This system is currently only available to Wayne State University employees. If you believe you are receiving this message in error, contact Organization & Employee Development at 313-577-2111 or OECI@wayne.edu to confirm eligibility.

Keep in mind that some issues will arise due to your specific desktop/laptop browser settings or software versions. When using a WSU desktop computer, work with your local IT support staff to resolve these issues.

Browser test

The following issues suggest you should perform a browser test:

  • You receive an error message saying "SkillPort has not finished initializing your desktop settings."
  • You receive a blank white screen with a message saying 'Login in progress… please wait.'
  • You are in the WSU Employee Development Tool System but are unable to launch a course.

Perform a browser test at browser.skillport.com. If you are having issues with the browser test, check your pop-up settings. The test will ask you to input your email address so that it can send you the report. This is

safe to do. If Java appears as unsupported from the browser test or if Java appears as supported, but you still receive an error message, call your local IT support.

If Java appears as unsupported from the browser test and you are on a non-WSU computer, follow the instructions at support.skillsoft.com/customer/SPJava.htm
